Settings in the book "Island of the blue dolphins":
The first and only setting is on the island of the blue dolphins. The island is shaped like a dolphin sunning itself in the sun. It has lots of high ledges made of rocks. It has lots of caves locoted all over the island, but most are locoated on the coast of the sandpit. They're is also lots a ravine filled with herbs, plants, animals and clean water that runs down the middle of the island. There are a gigantic forests, filled with wild animals (Such as wolves, birds, boars...) The villagers of galas-at live in a cleared spot of forest with a bunch of huts and houses. Most people do choose to live here, so there as usually alot of people in the village. Down by the shore (Sandpit as they call it) there is lots of little beavers swimming in the kelp beds. Sometimes, sea elephants come in to shore, giving at great opertuntity for food or skins. To connect all the places on the island, there are paths made of dirt, mud and grass. Whenever the aluets came, Karana would cover the paths to make it look like there wasent a person living there. On the middle of the island, there is a "Mesa". This is a large table that the villagers of galas-at eat at. You would often find people eating or prepearing food for dinner.
